This Monday was the anniversary of the passing Davonte Washington. In 2016, the fifteen year old was gunned down at Deanwood Metro Station in front of his little sisters and his mother. Every year on March 26th, there is a candlelight vigil at Deanwood station in remembrance of him. This year marked two years since this senseless act was committed. Davonte was my friend, more like my brother. His death ties into gun violence something people from all over the nation just marched for this past weekend of March 24th. Davonte attended Largo High school. A student that has attended Largo High School has died every year for the past five years. The gun violence is becoming senseless. The death of Davonte and others who died like him remind us why we march for our lives.
