AFJROTC stands for “Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps”. The ROTC’s core values are “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.” Their motto is “My character defines me I will not lie, cheat, or steal!” Flowers High School ROTC teaches its cadets how to build up self-confidence, discipline, work ethic, and how to work as a team. Before joining I had initially thought the ROTC program was going to be extremely strenuous but to my greatest surprise being in this program has taught and shown me a hundreds of things that I never imagined I could do. AFJROTC is not a scheme used to recruit cadets for military service but an aid to get them ready for when they may later want to join the U.S Air Force later or simply succeed in everything they do.
The JROTC instructors are constantly putting the cadets in leadership positions. In JROTC we have people in different rankings such as first sergeant. These positions are usually given to the upperclassmen. These cadets set an excellent example and by observing them as they do well, they inspire me to improve as an individual. Sometimes I resent the older cadets because of how organized and high ranked they are. However, that just shows me how much harder I have to work to get to their level of expertise and knowledge. I look up to the older cadets, how they take leadership and control that motivates me to be like them and hopefully set a good example for the younger cadets that I have a chance to work with in the future. JROTC is about the ability to lead a group and conduct yourself in proper manner it also “MOTIVATE PEOPLE TO BE BETTER CITIZENS”. JROTC help Character-building in many ways they teach us that by building character is that we respect other people’s point of view even if we don’t agree with it. They guide us on how to handle certain situations
