According to Maryland School Superintendent, Karen Salmon, in a live press conference on May 6, 2020, all Maryland State Schools will remain close for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. However distance learning will be continued for the remaining school year, information on the set date for the last day of school for Maryland Schools was not discussed in this conference. For our graduating seniors, local superintendents will make decisions on graduation ceremonies and other celebratory activities. Prince George’s County Schools Superintendent, Monica Goldson, had since reassured the graduating seniors that prom and graduation will be held at later dates in the year and herself and members of the school community are connecting with the venues now. The Class of 2020 however, must stay in compliance with the governor’s executive orders to stay safe during the pandemic.
