I’m home all day with nothing to do,

but work

I look outside and wish that I could go somewhere,

but I’m trapped

I want to leave these walls that keep me imprisoned

but I can’t

I can’t because it’s dangerous outside

I can’t because I could get infected and die

If only I could feel the warmth of my friend as we embrace a hold with affection

One last forbidden close-up until it’s truly safe

but I can’t

It’s dangerous outside and nowhere except here is safe they say

So not now

Not yet

Not tomorrow

Not next week or even next month

Next year?…

I’ll still wait though

For you
