Exelon STEM Innovation Leadership Academy
Are you considering a future career in science, technology, engineering, or math? Do you want to know more about energy, sustainability, and climate change? Interested in improving your leadership skills?
The Exelon STEM Leadership Academy is a free, week-long residential leadership program held at the University of Maryland campus. Young women learn about the energy industry in engaging, interactive ways, including field trips, hands-on experiences, and small-group discussions.
Learn about women working in STEM and business leaders. Visit energy facilities. Explore sustainability, energy conservation, renewables, and climate change. Connect with like-minded peers.
Young women currently in 10th or 11th grade (classes 2022 and 2023) are invited to apply for the 2021 Exelon STEM Leadership Academy.
Successful applicants will spend the week housed at the University of Maryland attending educational sessions, improving leadership and professional skills, and tackling a weeklong group challenge. Young women will have the opportunity to meet business and community leaders and to speak to women already working at STEM.
The Exelon STEM Leadership Academy is also offering scholarships for PGCPS students!!
Each participant will receive an iPad to be used for the activities of the Academy and can be taken home at the end of the week.

- Young women currently in 10th or 11th grade (Class of 2022 or 2023)
- Young women live in Washington DC, or Baltimore City, Ann Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s Counties Maryland
Free to attend
- All participants will live on campus, supervised by STEM Academy mentors during the Academy.
- All meals will be provided during the Academy.
- All participants will receive an iPad to use during the Academy.
- All participants will receive t-shirts to wear during the Academy.
