College is expensive and can cause financial stress on families. One way to relieve this stress is scholarship money.
Here is yet another opportunity for seniors who need more money for college. The “Frederick Douglass Memorial and Historical Association Essay Contest” provides $3,000 for first place winner and $2,000 for second place winner.
To be eligible you must be:

  • A senior attending public school in Washington DC, Maryland, or Virgina
  • Enrolled in college in the fall of 2017 or spring semester of 2018

Requirements include:

  • Submit essay by 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2017
  • No personal information in the essay
  • Minimum of 750 words (Citations do not count)
  • Original work
  • Minimum of 1 source (No Wikipedia, magazines, newspapers or blogs)
  • Must include endnotes, footnotes, or a bibliography
  • Essay must be submitted through email or first class mail
