Steelers Respond To Trump

On Sunday, September 25, 2017, The NFL took a knee….literally. According to CBS, teams across the league protested the comments made by Donald Trump who said “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!'”
As I watched the football teams on Sunday, teams took a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, however the Pittsburgh Steelers chose to stay in the locker room while the anthem played. According to ABC News, Offensive Tackler Alejandron Villanueva did come out of the locker room to stand for the anthem, but because he’s a former U.S. Army Ranger everyone respected his decision.
According to CBS Sports Villanueva says he made a mistake by doing that without his teammates even after the team came  to a final decision on what they would do. Most teams in the league took a knee during the Anthem, but the steelers took this protest to a higher volume.
I wonder if this will be an ongoing affair by the Steelers, or do they plan to surprise us all again? This whole NFL vs Politics situation has been about the NFL players being allowed to exercise their first amendment rights. President Donald Trump continues to battle with these athletes via Twitter.
