On Wednesday September 27, 2017, Charles Herbert Flowers High School hosted their annual orientation PGRASG (Prince George’s Regional Association of Student Government) meeting in their auditorium.
PGRASG consists of multiple SGA’s (Student Government Association) in high schools or middle schools all over PG County. Together they work with student board members in order to advance the student’s voice in the county. Our regional advisor, Mr. Richard Moody, conducted a meeting on the night of September 26, 2017, to ensure that final preparations were made for this orientation. The PGRASG executive board invited different schools within Prince George’s County such as Duval High School, Parkdale High School, and Bladensburg High School to attend. While the high school advisors were engaging in a productive meeting with Mr. Richard Moody, the students of the executive board conducted various activities after introducing their roles within PGRASG.
The orientation ended with an activity that was established in order to combat something all students are well-acquainted with; stress. The presentation was entitled “Stress”, which was created by Annette and Marie Moukoury. Their presentation involved various stations where a student can identify their stresses and relieve their stresses.
“In times of great stress or adversity, it’s always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.” -Lee Lacocca
