NFL Athletes vs. Trump

The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, and his players had a disagreement between social media and most importantly President Donald Trump. The argument between the team and President Trump was caused by the kneeling of one Dallas Cowboys member during the reciting of the National Anthem. President Trump believes that kneeling during the National Anthem is very inappropriate and disrespectful towards veterans and currently active members of the armed forces as well as their service to our nation.
The kneeling in question took place on September 25, 2017 at the University of Phoenix stadium, the Arizona Cardinals stadium. The reason NFL players are kneeling before their upcoming games is because of one man and his actions, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had started it all when he said “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people, and people of color”. Other NFL players agreed and decided to take his side leading the situation to escalate to the point where  President Donald Trump tweeted “set a rule that you can’t kneel during our National Anthem!” targeting the Cowboys on Twitter at 7:09 a.m on September 27.  Both the Dallas Cowboys and Donald Trump took their arguments very seriously, each believing wholeheartedly their arguments were reasonable. Since then various other NFL teams such as the Jets, Browns, Panthers, Lions, 49ers, Colts, Titans, Dolphins, and the Steelers have taken a knee to protest the National Anthem before their game. For now there is not much that can be said regarding the protests due the constantly changing positions regarding it. Only time will tell the outcome.
