NSBE Meetings Notes 9/27/17
October 4, 2017
Every Wednesday, NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) holds meetings in room 632 at Charles Herbert Flowers High School. On September 27th, NSBE conducted a meeting where future competitions, meetings, and other events were discussed.
NSBE consists of many programs, but the main ones are Ten80, VEX Robotics, and Try-Math-A-Lon (TMAL).
Ten80 consists of a team that works together to build and program cars in order to race them at competitions with other schools in the country.
VEX Robotics is where students assemble robots to compete. Finally, TMAL which is a tutoring program, enhances the mathematical skills of students and helps them prepare for standardized tests like ACT and SAT.
Programs in NSBE help students gain lessons on the importance of teamwork, communication, and time management.
NSBE’s executive board encourages you to come to the meeting if interested. Also the club is not only for Black students, NSBE accepts people of every color, as long as they show signs of dedication and promise.
