Get Into College!

Are you doing what you need to do to get into College? As a High School Senior at Charles Herbert Flowers, it is necessary for us to “Get Gone”. Most of us have College as our next step to secure a career. Starting in High School, Be sure to take the PSAT, SAT, ACT and even the Accuplacer. Last week the Seniors were offered the chance to take the Accuplacer, if you need to make up the test, Juniors and Sophomores are taking the test. Be sure to speak to Ms. Washington for more information, a 2.5 GPA is all that is needed to take the test. The Accuplacer is a test to be able to take dual enrollment courses at Prince George’s Community College.  The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT. Eleventh grade students can qualify for National Merit Scholarship. Register by October 6th it’s 16 dollars for ninth and eleventh grade students, free for tenth graders.  The SAT and ACT are college entrance and acceptance tests. The SAT is out of 1600 points, the ACT is out of 36. The next SAT date is October 7th, and those test scores will be out by October 20th.  Do not hesitate, it is not too late to sign up for the November test. It is November 4th, but the registration deadline was October 5th.
