Desire

Desire

Stella Chinwe Akpuaka

What is desire to you?
Desire is like a burning flame. You know the flame will soon burn out on its own, so you take oil to add to the flame for it to continue to burn. The oil what you need in life, not just what you want.
The goal is what you want. “Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge” by Plato. His depth in philosophy enhanced his knowledge on having more examination of the world, including the word desire. Desire is more than a want according to Plato. It is metaphysics which is a branch of philosophy exploring the fundamental nature of reality. Having an outtake of desire that tells you it’s nature is true.
Everything that I have ever desired is something that has come from the reality around me. So is desire something you actually want? It is a drive that we continue to have to push for what we “want.” I desire consistency because it’s an emotion, a feeling I believe I need in my life. Without consistency I won’t have a requirement in my life. This nature, this reality I have been around showed me a taste for something I will desire for the rest of my life.
