My Letter to God

October 23, 2017
Dear God,
You work in such mysterious ways
First the light
Then the storm
Then the rays of your truth
A lesson maybe
You picked a star
And made it for me
Yet I don’t know what it contains
You tested me with floods
You tested me with deserts
I thought it was only too much for me to handle
You put me in a tunnel
Yet the light was within me
You were within me
Clueless, was I
Hopeless, was I
You stood high above me
Like my dreams
Which only made it possible for you to see me
I felt your rain
You felt my pain
Genesis flood narrative
Deserted my doubt
Wrapped your arms around me
Dear God,
You work in such mysterious ways
First the light
Then the storm
Then the rays of your truth
A lesson maybe
You picked a star
And made it for me
Yet I don’t know what it contains
