Effects of Music

Camron Thompson

Music has been around for centuries, according to, Thomas Schäfer, Peter Sedlmeier, and David Huron, “People listen to music to regulate arousal and mood, to achieve self-awareness, and as an expression of social relatedness.”
Many people believe that music can effect the quality of someone’s work, Teresa Lesiuk states, “When music evokes a pleasant mood and an increased arousal state, participants perform better on non- musical tasks.” Scientists have studied that genres of music affects a persons mind, depending on their interest.
Music is used in many forms, such as expressing feelings, motivation and much more. Sarah Dessen states, “Music is the great uniter. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else can have in common.”
