Ms. Williams AP English class got their hands on a new book to start off the second quarter. A 2003 non-fiction novel called “The Devil in the White City:  Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America” by Erik Larson is going home with each of the students for them annotate and complete homework on. Leonardo DiCaprio purchased the film rights to the book in 2010. The book owns a series of awards through 2003 and 2004 including New York Times bestseller and Edgar Award (Best Fact Crime). 
Set in Chicago in 1893, the book spans the years surrounding the building of Chicago World’s Fair, also known as The World’s Columbian Exposition and takes us with Daniel H. Burnham, the Fair’s architect, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, a cunning serial killer. Purchase the book and read with us!
