Kente Factory
January 3, 2018
On November 20th, I visited the Kente Factory in Ghana. Kente is a type of unique cloth used a lot in the African culture for lots of items. I noticed in Ghana that they have mechanical machines and in the U.S. we have electric machines that work on their own. I love how all the Kente cloth has its own unique styles and color. While at the Kente Factory we where given the chance to try and make the kente cloth which was very difficult and just amazed me how the workers completed it so quickly. I also learned about the Adinkra symbols which are sometimes printed on Kente cloth. Each Adinkra symbol has its own meaning which makes them special.
