Feature article: Teenage suicide prevention

Darius Lyons

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college age youth and ages 12-18.
More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, aids, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic disease combined.
To prevent suicide from happening in teenagers and young adults they need to be able to get the help they need by joining a group or having a therapist.
They need to have someone who is going to have their back no matter how big or small the situation is.
To get the word out they can make flyers and pass them out in their school about a youth group that talks about suicidal thoughts and the causes and effects of suicide.
