Flowers Jaguars take down No.10 Roosevelt Raiders

Terrence Brantley & Jonathan Rowles

On January 18, 2018, the Flowers Jaguars Varsity Boys Basketball team hosted the Roosevelt Raiders. Roosevelt came into the game following a win versus the No.5 team in the Washington Post, as they were ranked No.10 themselves.
The Jaguars played excellent defense and the offense was led by junior, Mikkah Tobias. When asked about his performance he responded, “It was a team effort I couldn’t do it without my team”. He was also asked if the big win will give his team more confidence as the season will go on and he responded, “I think this game will give us confidence for the rest of the season because it shows how our team’s work and effort can drive us to a win”.
The final score was 57-54.  This was a big win for the Flowers Basketball team as they will look forward to make some more noise as the season goes on. They will have another tough game Tuesday vs Wise @Flowers!
We hope to see you there!
