Repercussions for Inclement Weather

Lately, Prince George’s County Public Schools have been closed due to inclement weather. This unfortunately affected school transportation.
On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, a third day of instruction was lost. Since students are required to attend 180 days of school, which is mandated by the state, days must be made up. Instead of extending the time we are in school, students are now required to attend school on February 9, 2018. This day and February 8, 2018 are B days.
The purpose of this it to maintain Governor Larry Hogan’s requirement of ending the school year by June 15 and starting off the 2018-2019 school year after Labor Day. Any other delays or days off due to implement weather will affect the length of Spring Break.
