The opportunity to be a Dual Enrollment student has arisen again.  Students now have the opportunity to take the Accuplacer, which is a placement test for entrance to the Dual Enrollment program. For those who are not aware, Dual Enrollment is a program that allows high school students to be enrolled in college, and take college credit classes that can count towards their Bachelor Degree. Students can also choose to take dual-credit courses, which are credits that count for both high-school and college credits. An example of this would be ENG-1010 which is counts as a college credit and also is a English 12 credit, which means students who take and pass the college class are not required to take a English class during their 12th grade year. Student who take Dual Credit courses will also have their college GPA added to their high school GPA, which would in turn raise the acum. Taking the Accuplacer is the first step to many great opportunity, so make sure you sign up with Ms. Washington to take the accuplacer on the date of your respective grade.
