Football Preview: CHFHS vs. Wise

The C.H. Flowers football team has a record of six wins and two losses. After staying alive in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot with last Saturday’s 7-6 nail-biter win against Bowie, it is imperative that the Jaguars win every remaining game on their schedule to ensure a berth in the postseason.

Flowers’ latest obstacle will be a showdown with its biggest rival, the Wise Pumas, postponed from this past Saturday to today, Oct. 31. The game will take place at Wise High School, which stacks the odds even higher against Flowers.

However, if any team knows how to play strong in the face of adversity, it’s the Jaguars. They’ve won nearly every game they’ve needed to this season, and they’ve managed to stay competitive in each one.

Wise currently has a record of 7 wins and one loss, and has given the Jaguars headaches in the past. This is a new year, though, and Flowers is fielding a new team with higher expectations and bigger goals.
