Black History Month Is Coming To An End!

Today is February 23, 2018 and Black history month ends in five days. The month may be ending but lets continue educating ourselves on these wonderful people.
Here is a list of some of the accomplished and influential Black people who were born today:

  • W.E.B. Du Bois was born. Du Bois was a sociologist, educator, historian, and sociopolitical activist who laid the groundwork for Pan-Africanism. Pan-Africanism is a movement that aims to unite all people of African descent.
  • Elston Howard was born today in 1929. Howard was the first African American to play for the Yankees, he joined the team on April 14, 1955. He was a coach, catcher, and left-fielder.
  • James Cameron, founder of America’s Black Holocaust Museum located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was born 104 years ago.
