Over-scheduling can KILL You!

Brittney Angu

There are twenty-four hours in a day. About eight hours of that day goes towards school excluding getting ready for it. We sleep for eight hours, well we are supposed to. Eight hours are all we have in a day to get homework done, eat, and do any other extracurricular activities. Over-scheduling is one of the major problems that most teens have and some aren’t even aware of it. What is over-scheduling? The term over-scheduling means to overfill one’s schedule. When over-scheduling, some tend to take away time from areas where time doesn’t need to be taken from. For example, when you overfill your schedule you are most likely going to take away time from the number of hours you’re supposed to sleep every night. You are also most likely to become unorganized. When you overwhelm yourself,  you have less time to yourself. The two most important things you need time for is for yourself and your beauty rest. When you have no time to yourself, you have no time during your day to sit back and relax, or just to just give your brain a break. Breaks are essential, trust me. When you lack sleep, you are risking your health and are highly susceptible to illnesses like heart disease, heart attack, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, stroke, and diabetes. I will tell you a path that you will be following if you continue to over-schedule yourself.
Over-scheduling->Multitasking->loss of memory-> stress-> headaches and other physical symptoms->lack of sleep->all the diseases I listed above->death. I’m sure you don’t want to die by over-scheduling
