Should Teachers be Armed?

With the recent school shootings, there has been an arising question regarding the safety of students and teachers. Teachers are beginning to question whether or not they should be armed to protect students in the event of an attack that may jeopardize the deaths of innocent people.
After the school shooting in Florida, many parents and teachers are eager for their students to be in a safe environment as well as feel safe when at school. After the countless deaths of students across America, is it the right choice to arm teachers with guns?
In my opinion, I see no wrong in arming a teacher. With extensive background checks and guarantee of proper training from local police officers, they may be able to stop a threat before it happens or when it is happening. Having a responsible adult that is willing to put their life on the line to save hundreds of students is one of the best ways to go when speaking of this recent tragedy.
