On May 29, 2017, the television series, “Roseanne” was cancelled due to the main star, Roseanne Barr, going on a racist Twitter rant.
This rant included attacks on Valerie Jarrett, Chelsea Clinton and George Soros, and it included pro-Trump conspiracy theories.
The ABC network had decided to cancel the show after these remarks were discovered and Roseanne Barr has been dropped by her talent agency as a result of her actions.
In place of the show, the network has decided to run a rerun of “The Middle”.
Disney believed that action was necessary after considering various cultural and financial factors, afterall “Enough was enough.”
