Jaguars Vanquish HD Woodson in Season Opener!

Terrence Brantley

On Thursday, December 6th, 2018, the Flowers Jaguars Boys Basketball team opened up their season against the HD Woodson Warriors. The game was a competitive one throughout. The score was tied at the end of every quarter from the first to the third. The fourth quarter came around and the Jaguars hit their stride. They were able to create some space between them and the Warriors and they were able to carry that out to the end of the game. The final score was 73-65! The scoring toll was led by the two guards, Ronell Giles Jr and Brian Brooks Jr. Ronell finished with 19 points and Brian ended with 17. This was a great win against a tough HD Woodson team and a great way to start the season! I was able to ask Brian Brooks Jr. a few questions postgame:

Terrence : “What do you think of your performance tonight?”
Brian : “I think I did well and led a big role to get my team the victory tonight.”
Terrence : “How important is it for you and your team to start strong this season?”
Brian : “It is very important because we don’t want people to look at us and think we are the same team from last year.”
Terrence : “What are your teams’ goals For the season?”
Brian : “Our goals this year are going undefeated the whole season and all the way to the state tournament!”
If the Jaguars keep it up they will for sure be playing at the University of Maryland! The Jaguars continue their season Friday, December 7th, as they travel to take on the Dunbar Crimson Tide, at 7pm. Go Jags!
