Floyd Mayweather, born February 24, 1977 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an American professional boxer. He became a professional boxer in 1996. In that same year, he received three national Golden Gloves and a bronze medal in the 1996 Olympics. By 2007, he was considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and had 38 undefeated bouts. He retired in 2008, but returned to the ring in September 2009. On May 5, 2012, Mayweather fought Miguel Cotto. After 12 rounds, Mayweather defeated Cotto with an unanimous decision, receiving the WBA super welterweight title. His record is now 43-0.
