Madam C.J Walker is an example of a pioneer woman. She was an African American entrepreneur, philanthropist, but most importantly a political and social activist. Born on December 23, 1867 Madam C.J Walker made her fortune developing a line of cosmetics and hair products for African-American women. Besides her entrepreneurship she was also a philanthropist and a political and social activists. She began sharing her views as she become more wealthy and known and started to donate and raise funds for associations, institutions, and churches. She died May 25, 1919 due to kidney failure and complications of hypertension at the age of 51. Madam C.J Walker made black history.
