Sonia Sotomayor was born on June 25, 1954, in The Bronx, New York and accommodated Puerto Rican origin. Sotomayor graduated from Cardinal Spellman High school in 1972, and then entered the Ivy League, Princeton University.
In 1976, Sotomayor entered Yale Law School, where she became an editor for the Yale Law Journal. Sotomayor was the first Latina to join the Supreme Court Justice in U.S. history. President Barack Obama nominated her on May 26, 2009.
