About 18 Fire Cadet Seniors from C.H.Flowers and Gwyn Park with a select few Juniors will attend a Burn tomorrow on May 9th as a sort of closing ceremony with their families in attendance. This Burn will demonstrate the seniors abilities to put out fires, throw ladders, ventilate, and other important skills in the firefighting world. At this Burn, the Cadets will responding to a simulated fire in a 2 story house with 2 victims inside. There will be 2 engine companies in charge of the hoses, stopping the fire from spreading, etc, and 2 truck companies in charge of search and rescue of the 2 victims in the fire. In addition to their families, the whole firefighting command staff will be in attendance, as this is a firefighting “showcase” of sorts.
