When a fire drill occurs, students typically leave the school and wait until the bells turn off. During that time where the students are outside of the school, a teacher is supposed to gather them up and take attendance. However, here at Charles Herbert Flowers, teachers are not enforcing this procedure. On Monday September 23, 2019, a fire drill occurred with many students staying near the building with many teachers not organizing their students to take attendance.
According to Ms. Whitworth,”It’s important to take attendance in order to prepare for the possible tragedy that will occur if a real fire were to take place. It’s all about accountability.”
