Bowie Police Department’s Traffic Officer Conducted a High Intensity Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Initiative.
With help from volunteer Officers from the Department, this effort was in support of the Maryland Highway Safety Office program geared towards protecting pedestrians and bike riders on the roadway. Utilizing marked/unmarked cars as well as radar and laser speed measuring devices, Officers made 18 traffic stops, issued 17 citations, 2 repair orders, and 9 warnings for various offenses ranging from speeding to seat belt use.
