Bladensburg Tuberculosis Outbreak

Health officials in Prince George’s County, Maryland are investigating a case of tuberculosis that occurred at Bladensburg High School.
So far approximately 200 students have been affected by the tuberculosis. The case was first discovered on October 24, 2019 and parents are wondering why it took up to two weeks to be notified. Cranksford Edmond claims that they are deep cleaning the school.
Tuberculosis is a disease caused by germs that spread from person to person through the air. Tuberculosis usually affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body, such as the brain, the kidneys, or the spine. A person with tuberculosis can die if they do not get treatment.
