Swimming
The Flowers swim team achieved a number of milestones at Saturday’s meet. The girls’ 200 freestyle relay team won the regional championship for the first time in school history, and the girls’ overall team finished third in the region. Numerous Flowers swimmers qualified for the state championship meet, which will be held next Saturday, and the Jaguars will be sending their largest team ever to the event.
Wrestling
The wrestling team finished second overall at their latest competition. Clyde McBride (160) and Francios Scaraboro (113) won in their weight classes, and ten wrestlers qualified for the regional competition.
Basketball
Both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have qualified for the playoffs. The boys’ team is seeded fourth in the 4A South and will have a first round bye. They will host the winner of the Bladensburg/Suitland game on February 28th. The girls’ team is the third seed in the 4A South and will also have a first round bye. They will host the winner of the Wise/Duval game on February 25th.
