National Chinese Honor Society
On Friday, December 13, 2019, the National Chinese Honor Society induction ceremony occurred in the Helena Nobles-Jones Auditorium. Hosted by Mr. Yunlun Wu, Chinese Teacher, and National Chinese Honor Society Leader ceremony the ceremony commenced and guests were entertained with a short skit called “Comparing Languages” and powerpoint that explored the history of NCHS.
As the newly inducted students graced Helena Nobles-Jones stage they participate in the lighting of induction candles and a special tradition in which students indulge in calligraphy and write their Chinese name with a brush and ink. Mr.Wu then began to play a traditional Chinese instrument known as the Erhu, playing beautiful Chinese songs as well as ending his performance with the Chinese rendition of Jiggle Bells.

Personally, I would like to thank Mr.Wu for inviting me to the ceremony and to experience a small but powerful experience with Chinese Culture. Going to the ceremony had made me more interested in Chinese and their club and with a leader like Mr.Wu, I will certainly join next year if I get the chance.
