My COVID-19 Experience
January 4, 2021
As everyone knows, 2020 was one chaotic year and affected everyone differently. Personally, my experience with 2020 was extremely impactful none the less. I learned a lot about myself, my friends, my family, so many things that I didn’t think would impact me as a person. Like many people, in the starting stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, I went from being excited for “an extra 2-week spring break” to realizing the last time I was in school I was a freshman to most likely being a junior when I return. There have been so many overall realizations about every part of my life since this COVID outbreak and truly, I am in some ways grateful for this pandemic.
I’m sure a lot of teenagers like myself have been missing in-person interaction and the normal day to day experiences that come with life. However, at this point in time, we aren’t living “normal a day to day life”. We have to take the proper precautions to keep ourselves and our family’s safety. My aunt who lives with me, unfortunately, caught the virus, and all though she is better now, it was quite a scary experience. With that said no one is safe and this virus is not picking and choosing who it wants to infect. If we want a somewhat normal life in 2021 and moving forward, we need to continue to take the necessary precautions to get there.
I do hope for a much better year in 2021, taking everything I learned this year with me and leaving anything that didn’t help me behind. Overall, I am excited to see what the unknown holds and experience all the miracles in 2021.
