The Gospel Project: Love

Cross+%3D+Love

Cross = Love

Daphne Nwobike

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Because of love, Jesus left His throne in heaven and came into the world He fashioned with His hands.
Because of love, Jesus, the infinite one who knows no beginning or end, came to earth as a child born in a manger.
Because of love, Jesus preached the gospel to the rich, the poor, the old, and the young, that they might be saved.
Because of love, Jesus caused the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Because of love, Jesus admonished sinners and told them to “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” Matthew 3:2
Because of love, Jesus allowed His creations to insult, mock, and ridicule him. He let them whip, stab, and hang Him on a cross.
Because of love, Jesus wore a crown of thorns on His head and various nails in His hands and feet.
Because of love, Jesus suffered, bled, and died for our sake. He took the bitter cup of pain from us and spared us from the Father’s wrath.
Because of love, Jesus was the unblemished lamb sacrificed to cleanse us from sin.
Because of love, Jesus perished so that we would have everlasting life with Him in Heaven.
Because of love, Jesus died on a cross.

The cross symbolizes the unconditional love that caused Him to die for you and me.
