Reopening planning
Our team has been working diligently to complete operational guidelines that will maximize safety for the students and staff members of our school community. These guidelines will be unveiled during the “State of the School” address in March. Our CEO is planning to announce the transition plan in the coming days. Please check the PGCPS website for updates.
Parent/ Teacher Conferences- February 16th
Our teachers will be hosting conferences on either the morning or afternoon of February 16th. A schedule regarding these abbreviated conferences is forthcoming.
Below you will find the announcements that will be sent to students on February 8th. Morning Announcements are sent to students daily, including recorded announcements on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Welcome to another Magnificent Monday at our “Mecca of Excellence”. Today is an “A” day. Classes start at 7:45 am. Please arrive on time, with cameras on, ready to learn!

The next student town hall will occur on Friday, February 19th. More information regarding this event is forthcoming. 
SAT and ACT Offerings
As we already know, the SAT day at CHF, scheduled as during the school day event on March 3rd, has been canceled. CF will, however, be offering ACT and SAT on the following Saturday dates.
SAT- March 13, May 8, and June 8. Please go to to register.

SAT TEST PREP and Essay Contest (1/30)- Saturday, February 13th
The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation of Maryland is sponsoring a FREE SAT Prep forum. They have also committed to providing DoorDash Gift Cards to the students from CHF who have the highest level of participation at the event. Great training and prize opportunity. This will be a great way to spend a cold winter Saturday afternoon. Please see the flyer, which is linked here.
Omega Psi Fraternity Mu Nu Chapter Mentoring Events- Youth Leadership Conference- Saturday, February 13th
The Montgomery County Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. invites all High School age students to participate in their upcoming mentoring events to include their Youth leadership Conference. Please find more information on the attached flyer.
Leadership, Interviewing and Job skills Training for SENIORS- Register now 
Life, Leadership, and Social Skills Training is an essential skill set our young Adults need to master! C H Flowers HS SENIORS get access to a two day, two-hour training for FREE in the month of FEBRUARY in my way of giving back service to help our next generation. This training “Interviewing Like a Professional every time” Training will be VIRTUAL (due to Covid-19 protocols). Each Participant will also receive an Interview session with the host and a video that will be provided to each participant as a permanent tool for improvement. All participants will learn other skills such as proper dress, email, and voicemail, and video conferencing etiquette, and many other workplaces, and social skills etiquette. Classes are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays in FEBRUARY from 5-7 pm (Zoom is the platform training will be provided on). REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13th to CONFIRM a SPOT. Email registration request to [email protected]! There are only 20 spots available for registration so please take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Save the date!!! Next Manhood 101 Session- February 17th
Coach Bleu Colquitt, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Lambda Gamma Gamma Chapter, and the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation would like to welcome young men to register for one of the most renowned Male mentoring programs in the Country, Manhood 101! Registration for the next session will occur through Monday, February 15th. More information is provided on this flyer.

Our TV Productions team has done a great job with this 1st edition of their new segment called THE CORONA DIARIES! Please take a look! Kudos to all who participated in the production!
Jaguar Voices- “I AM” Montage
Jaguar Voices is planning to do another video production. This video is going to be centered around Black History Month (BHM) and who you are. What are you proud to be? What are you confident about?
To be featured in the video production fill out this form. “I am___”
You can send in a video/voiceover or write a response. The form will be collecting responses until February 11th.
Black History Contest- Week 1
Congratulations to all 19 participants in today’s contest the winners for this week are:
First Place- Virginia Bates
Second Place- Emmanuel Ikeh
Third Place- Bryce Singleton
These three students will receive prizes and move on to the finals on February 24th. if you didn’t qualify for the finals today, I urge you to study your black history and try again! Please join us again Wednesday, February 10th at 1:30 pm for another preliminary round, where we will be hosting another round, giving away prizes, and identifying three more finalists!
Additionally, we have been challenged by Oxon Hill High School for a school black history trivia challenge. Our winning team which will be composed of the top three students from the finals round will take on three of their students for bragging rights!

Guided Imagery is a convenient and simple relaxation technique that can help you quickly and easily manage stress and reduce tension in your body. Guided imagery can quickly calm your body and simultaneously relax your mind. It’s pleasant to practice, and not overly difficult to learn. And it can help you to de-stress in minutes, but can also be a useful strategy for maintaining resilience toward stress during difficult times.
