Calling all writers, poets, and creatives!
This April is National Poetry Month! The Prince George’s County Memorial Library is celebrating, and you can enter the 2nd Annual PGCMLS Poetry Contest!
If interested, you should submit a poem of your original work, discussing how and why you love their library.
This contest started at the beginning of April, and you have until April 30th to submit your work on the website https://www.pgcmls.info/poetry! Poems will be sent to judges on May 1st, and winners will be notified by May 15th.
Winners with chosen poems will receive a gift card, an invite to recite their poems at an Open Mic Night event on May 26th from 7-8:30 pm, and a publication on PGCMLS Poetry Hub!
- Contestant categories
- Lower Elementary: Kindergarten-3rd grade
- Upper Elementary: 4th-5th grade
- Middle School: 6th-8th grade
- High School: 9th-12th grade
- Adult: 18+
- Poems must be original works of any style and length.
- Only one submission per person is allowed.
- Submissions will be accepted during the entire month of April. Submit your work at pgcmls.info/poetry.
This is the perfect time to express yourself and your mind, and be praised for it! Don’t waste this opportunity.
