“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” Romans 3:24

God gave His Son, Jesus, to be the sacrifice for our sins. The Sinless died for the sinful, the Spotless suffered for the blemished, and the Righteous bled for the unrighteous. Jesus willingly laid down His life for those who, both then and now, profane His name and caricature Him. God could have poured out His wrath on humanity in the blink of an eye, but He showed us grace by having Jesus take on His wrath instead to spare us from the scourge of His judgment.

Now that Christ has redeemed us from sin’s bondage and God’s anger through His atoning blood, it is our responsibility to place faith in His work on the cross. Simply knowing that Jesus died on the cross does not equate to putting your faith in Him. For instance, if you were drowning in an ocean and saw a life jacket floating next to you, being aware of its presence wouldn’t save you. However, having faith in its ability to keep you from drowning and putting it on would preserve your life. In the same way, your life without Jesus equates to you hanging off a cliff. Sin is what pushed you over the cliff, and Jesus has His hands outstretched to pull you up and save you from death. Knowing Jesus is there will not keep you from falling, but having faith in His strength will cause you to put your hand in His, saving your life.

Obtaining salvation is that easy! Acknowledge and admit that Jesus came to earth, died, and rose again to save you. Then have faith in Him. Once you trust Him and give Him your life, salvation will be yours! No amount of striving or good deeds will save you. Only Jesus saves, and you can feel the balm of His salvation by placing your faith in Him.

It doesn’t matter whether you have cheated, lied, stolen, blasphemed, or fornicated in the past. When you confess your sins and put your faith in Jesus, He will wipe away all your mistakes and give you a new life, new heart, and new desires. As a result, you will be made right by God. We can not earn salvation; instead, it is a beautiful gift that God has given to us through His son, Jesus Christ, and we would be remiss to reject this offering. Put your faith in Jesus, believe in Him, and experience the joy that comes with being in His presence. (Psalm 16:11).
