An Opportunity for Students To Pursue An Occupation In STEM

A scholarship opportunity for seniors interested in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
The AFCEA of Central Maryland has created a scholarship opportunity for students at Charles Herbert Flowers Highschool. It is called the Future Minority Leaders and Technologist STEM Scholarship. This scholarship aims to help and encourage undergraduate students who are interested in professions in the STEM category. Students who aren’t yet seniors but are interested should also consider this as well.
Not only does this program help students improve their skills in STEM, but it also pushes our students to improvement. It encourages and pushes you one step closer to a career in stem. For those that don’t know what stem careers are, they include some of the following:
- Financial advisor
- Computer network architet
- Health and safety engineers
- Occupational therapist
- Orthodontist
- Zoologist
- Wildlife biologist
- Psychiatrist
- Software Developer
- Cartographer
These aren’t the only occupations but the rest are for you to explore. Students and adults who pursue these jobs are people who help push society forward and help to improve our technology, healthcare, discoveries, knowledge and so much more.
