An Extensive List of Flowers’ Clubs and Organizations

Charles Herbert Flowers High schools offer a variety of extracurricular activities, ranging from art club to Mu Alpha Theta. Below is an extensive list of the clubs Flowers has to offer. Hopefully you can find one that piques your interest!
Book Club- The book club will consist of a group of students who read and talk about books based on a topic or an agreed-upon reading list. The book club will meet monthly in order to give members time to read the next book and develop a literary critique to discuss at the meeting.
African Student Association- ASA is committed to preserving African culture and openly sharing its core values and traditions with CHFHS and surrounding communities through educational programs, dance, modeling, and charitable outreach.
Athletic Leadership Council and ALC Media- The Athletic Leadership Council and It’s media group and are group of student athletes that come together and plan events and resolve issues revolving around our athletic department. They help student athletes or aspiring student athletes get in touch with the right people and to also help athletes with community service. It’s media team records games/events and writes articles informing the public of the events.
Best Buddies- Creating friendship between students with and without Special Needs.
Biology Club- A place for those with an interest in any life science to gather and explore that interest through discussions, activities, and field trips.
Black Student Union- The Black Student Union aims to promote black empowerment, sisterhood & brotherhood, and self worth & identity amongst the black community at Flowers. The club will operate to strengthen blacks at Flowers from various backgrounds, roots, and cultures in order to achieve unity. In the Black Student Union, creating a safe space for Blacks is essential to support their mental health and further acknowledge their self-worth regardless of their sex, age, and afflictions within the black community. The club will also commit to acknowledging and encouraging opportunities in the Black community. Then guide members of the black community on how to properly place and put into effect the knowledge from those opportunities inside and outside of the black community. Some of these goals will be accomplished by recognizing various black icons and their achievements, engaging in debates regarding issues within our community, taking yearly trips to places that were built to promulgate black excellence/history, discussing personal experiences for learning, growth, & comfort purposes, and many more.

Concert Choir- Choir rehearse after School to learn the music and strengthen the sound. Also, to receive new students who can’t get choir on their schedule.
Caribbean Culture Club- Students can enhance and celebrate their culture in a safe space enjoying all aspects of caribbean culture with individuals of a similar background. By connecting with their caribbean identity through dance, music, art, modeling, and more.
Fire Explorers- “The Fire Science Explorer Program (FSEP) provides 1- 2 years of exposure to 9th and 10th graders who have an interest or desire to become firefighters, paramedics, or serve in other capacities related to health and safety of the community. The ultimate goal of FSEP is to create a pipeline for students to join the PGCPS/PGFD Fire Science Cadet Program during their junior and senior years of high school. Within the Explorer Program, students will experience various facets of careers related to fire/ems on the local, state and national level through observation, research and field experiences.
Manhood 101- Mentoring group which engages in leadership and character development, goal setting and discusses current events.
Master Chefs Club- Cooking/Creating foods
Natural Hair Club- Our club is mean tot promote Natural Hair within the community, and help girls and boys embrace their hair. We strive to teach others how to take care of their hair therefore promoting self love.
NSBE, Jr.- NSBE Jr., provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.
The CHF Film Society- The goal of our group is to create a student made film which can be submitted into a student film festival. If you like cinematography, editing, writing, or just being on camera, join the CHF Film Society.
Vetcetera- A club for future veterinarians and vet techs, as well as pet owners and animal lovers.
Young People for God(YPG)- YPG is a Club where students share with one another God’s word through different interesting and engaging activities. We also seek to be a positive help to our community through community services.
Rainbow Club- Rainbow Club is a judgment-free safe space for anyone no matter the race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We focus on LGBTQIA+ awareness and fight for social change.
