The Peacekeeping Baltimoreans

Jessica Udeh, Staff Writer

On May 3rd, a group of Baltimore natives had grown exasperated with the media coverage that was representing the Baltimore protests as animalistic riots. They collectively decided to show the cameras something else, changing the heavy hearted atmosphere to a street-fair like environment. People took to the streets in roller skates, selling ice-cream and t-shirts to anyone in sight. This wonderful act of peace influenced Baltimore Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, to lift the city curfew.
