Is Virtual Learning Here To Stay?

Let’s go back to March 7, 2020. Back when we thought COVID-19 was an invitation to a week long break from school and we had no idea what we were in for. Back then, virtual learning seemed ideal because we could have class in bed and didn’t have to go to school. But as time went on and on then things became different, we realized that we need human interaction and learning is harder when it’s only through a computer screen.

There was a time when it felt as if we would never see a classroom again until the vaccine rolled out and cases began to drop. Before we knew it, we were right back in class and things began to feel somewhat back to normal despite the mask and social distancing mandates. Now we are back to virtual learning and everyone who were able to maintain good grades are quaking in their boots.Virtual learning, testing, COVID-19, State Board - EducationNC

Now just like what happened last year, we are back to virtual. Now the question remains, how long will we remain virtual? How much more high school experiences will we miss out on? The answer to both of these questions are still up in the air and heavily depends on the resurgence of COVID-19 and if any new variants will be prevalent in Prince George’s County.
