To Be Woke

Daniel Odukoya , Sydney Ellis, Editor

We know woke as staying alert and not being swayed by any other false lie than the truth.

Woke in itself is used to express being well informed and aware. As students we should learn to be woke, to be alert to racial prejudice and discrimination. Some people learned to stay woke through books where writers give an open insight into their experiences either as children or as adults. For some, the stories they hear about others being mistreated and the impacts it has on the victim’s families have encouraged families and individuals to stay woke.

I urge that we stay woke together and aware of the truth behind the things man doesn’t want us to know.
