Prince Georges County is reopening schools on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Many students and teachers were disappointed when PG County schools announced that they would be closed from just before the winter break in 2021 to January 18, 2022.

This shutdown occurred due to the multiple COVID cases that were reported in PG County public schools. All this to say that in-person school will resume starting next week, on the 18th.

To take important safety precautions, many schools are doing things differently. We want to make sure that something like this won’t happen again, and as students, we can finish the remainder of the year in person.

Making sure to wear our masks in the building as well as properly sanitizing and keeping our area clean can lower the risk of others catching this quickly spreading the virus.

To ensure our safety, the school building, Charles Herbert Flowers, will be providing masks as well as at-home COVID tests for their students. Our principal, Dr. Brown, strongly encourages his students to get vaccinated for the safety of themselves and others.

If you have not already, please check out today’s morning announcements in your pgcps email for more information on our return.
