Happy New month Seniors! As you may already know, my name is Ajenganyi Khumbah and I am one of your Peer Forward Captains, here to assist you with your every college and career readiness need. As we slowly approach June, I wanted to touch base on some important reminders.
I, first of all, want to congratulate you all for the acceptances and accomplishments you’ve achieved so far. In addition, also remember that rejection is redirection and does not make you any less great than you already are! The sky is NOT the limit and life has so much more in store for you.
Your peer leaders, counselors, administrators, and teachers are always here for you. Please take some time out of your busy schedules to seek assistance in planning for college and post-high school life as needed. Refer to emails from Mr. Groves & Mr.Summers, as well as scholarship sites to apply for scholarships. From college applications to scholarships, and even essay reviews. Let’s get those applications in as soon as possible!
It is also very imperative that you apply for FAFSA. Many FAFSA deadlines are fast approaching, applying beforehand gives you access for more financial advantages! SAT and ACT fee waivers for 2022 testing dates are also still available. Do not hesitate to contact me or any other peer leader if you are in need of a fee waiver.
The Career Center, (Room 723), is open Monday-Friday (11 am -1 pm) to assist you with your every college/career readiness concern. When visiting the career center for assistance, you will be expected to fill out a short form prior to receiving assistance. This will be given to you upon arrival. Please do not hesitate to visit us as our goal is to assist our peers in any way we can. See you soon!
