Jorge Ramirez-Ortiz, senior, is a star student at Charles Herbert Flowers High School. Ramirez-Ortiz began to take an interest in guitar after taking a guitar class offered at Flowers during his sophomore year. He obtained his first guitar August of last year. He enjoys playing video games and his electric guitar each day.
Ramirez-Ortiz still finds time for his academic goals. He received a perfect score on the SAT writing section even though English Language Arts was not his strong suit. He devoted time at the library with friends to prepare for the test. By taking the practice test and teaching others what he learned he grew a better understanding of English Language Arts and how to write essays.
