Empty Thoughts

Empty Thoughts

Stacey Davies

I’m thinking but nothing’s coming
Ideas keep running
Escaping
Trying to cease existing
Resisting
Being pulled out of my head
Rather just be dead
Don’t want to go the distance or see what’s ahead
They don’t find this blue lining
To be so enticing
As I do
They rather be trapped
Not wrapped
And gifted to this paper
Settling for at least some impromptu
Rhymes can be scattered
Or not appear, it doesn’t matter
You can surprise me here or there
Anywhere
Some irony, a dramatic twist
Or something simplistic
I’m just begging please
Don’t let that barrier blocking the door in your mind stand in your way
Come on thoughts, bring it down
Make sure it no longer stays
Make your way to this piece of paper that here lays
