Hartford and Springfield are both forecast to reach 81 degrees Sunday, while Enfield edges slightly higher to 82 degrees, marking the warmest readings across the region. Manchester and Simsbury follow closely at 80 degrees.
Surrounding communities including Bristol, Waterbury, and Southbury are expected to see highs near 79 degrees, keeping most of central Connecticut in a similar range through the afternoon.
Coastal and Northern Communities See Slightly Cooler Afternoon Readings
Coastal and northern locations are running a few degrees cooler than the inland valley communities. Old Saybrook is forecast at 74 degrees, while Salem, Winsted, and Tolland are each expected to reach 77 degrees.
Farther north into Massachusetts, Becket and Amherst are forecast near 76 to 79 degrees, keeping the Berkshires and Pioneer Valley in a similar comfortable range for mid-August.
